I had the privilege to work with the super chill and talented teammate, Gabriel Eekenulv, Skyblivion’s Concept Art Lead. Together we produced this grand and regal set of armor. As a historical arms and armor enthusiast, I often time find it difficult to work with many fantasy concept arts. Most designs sacrifice basic understanding and practicality for “cool” aesthetics which make no sense. When I came across Eekenulv’s armor designs, however, I was in awe. His designs are grand, elegant, and “cool”, yet they maintain insights and functionality of armors, a perfect balance between “Realism” and “Suspension of Disbelieve”.
This was one of the most fun project I’ve produced in collaboration with others. Not to mention my Twitch subscribers who took part in submitting poleaxe designs, which eventually developed into the one you see. An attempt at creating a small environment for the Dagger of Time from the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy.
My influences were kinda all over the place. The altar and sand pile were ideas inspired by the Sands of Time Remake. The dagger combines elements from the Edge of Time from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey with elements from the original Sands of Time design. And then I threw a couple of my own ideas in to create this weird amalgamation that I hope Prince of Persia fans will at least find serviceable, lol.
