In order to internalize and learn about the workflow for videogames, I decided to take the course “Realistic Prop Creation for Video Games” by Paula Sánchez-Ferrero Ruiz at Domestika.
With my previous experience and the artist’s guidance, I proceeded to create a model that required baking and work on Zbrush.
All meshes were designed in 3ds Max. The main frame of the bed (made up of welded pipes) was later sculpted in Zbrush. A sci-fi holographic computer I made that is loosely based off the IBM 5100. Originally created for Second Life, shown here in Metalness PBR. Textured in Quixel Suite and Photoshop, modeled in Blender with the HardOps plugin.
The hologram is static for now, it normally has an animation (in other engines) but I am still trying to figure out a good way to have both a smooth interpolated rotation of the rings on the bottom and a hard transition of frames on the main screen (only way I can currently think of is to use the frame-by-frame method here but that would require way too much mesh data for smooth rotation).
