I uploaded this model to test how SketchFab renders something like this. The tricky part was figuring out how to get the silver foil on the top lable to be reflective. Got it to work :-) The cream looks like glossy plastic, but it’s a real-time render and gets the point across. I didn’t correctly UV map the underside because my renders were always on a table - so it didn’t matter. Model of Asuka Langley the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion! Posed as she is in her official artwork – spunky and tsundere.
I wanted to do a chibi model of Asuka after working on the Mass Produced Evangelion character (also visible on my page!), and in the end I think she came out really cute! I like modeling cute things truthfully as well as figurative characters, so this project was definitely a lot of fun. It was once again a big learning experience though, as I really tried to work on things like facial topology, that anime-feeling style, and being painterly with my textures. I still have a long way to go of course, but this felt like a big milestone that I’m happy to have done!
