Here is a project i’ve really wanted to experiment.
This is a parallax comics of the thief, Sly Cooper from the eponym Playstation’s games.
It’s a quite short story, but i essentialy was focused on the render effect.
It required a lot of sketches and scratches to imagine the ambiant, the lighting and the placement of different elements.
I principaly used the baking of lights to render this effect of very contrasted black and white.
Added a tiny outline to enhance the cartoon effect

Definitely want to acknowledge that a good portion of the design choices here were inspired by a lot of concept art that was created by artists way more creative than I’ll ever be. The chest piece and sword design were inspired by the Sideshow statue of He-Man, and while I sculpted this character a long time ago and don’t know for sure where I got specific concepts, I’m pretty darn sure the lion belt piece was drawn from looking at other paintings and sketches.
**Purchase includes keyed STL files for printing AND poseable rig with textures in a Maya scene backwards compatible to at least Maya 2017. The topology of the rigged model is more animation/pose-friendly and is not the same as the posed one here, as the posed one has been decimated. The objects were placed in the baskets using a rigid body. Someone asked me how many apples, tomatoes and pears are in the baskets. We have:
Apples = 26 (26 x 128 = 3328 faces)
Tomatoes = 43 (26 x 206 = 8858 faces)
Pears = 21 (21 x 110 = 2310 faces)
It should not be too difficult to reduce the number of polygons by omitting some of them.
