Another scan of a rock I found on the beach in Thassos, Greece. At first I tought it was either a meteorite or a volcanic rock, as it is very dense, and slightly magnetic. Turns out it's just a piece of slug, from a nearby medieval copper mine. Still a beautiful specimen. What you see here is just for fun. I have posted another model, with proper realistic maps. Can be used as a prop, although it is fairly high poly. Files are not packed into zip file, due to size limitation for free users. This is the final version of my first 3D assignment for Howest DAE.
I had a lot of fun working on it, especially the texturing, as we were now allowed to use anything like substance painter, marmoset etc. Everything had to either be done in photoshop or maya and we could pretty much only use an albedo and some transparency. It was a challange to get the textures looking good without any roughness or normals, but I think I learned a lot from it.
