This is a recent project of mine, an attempt to take some old pre-college concept drawings and make something out of them. Ultimately it was an excuse to freehand paint a lot of filigree detail in a couple different styles (one style for the steel parts, another for the wood/pommel). Painting filigree is incredibly satisfying! All the geometry and baking was done in Blender, and the first pass of materials also, then I moved over to Substance Painter for the detailing.
As for the sword itself, the profile is based on a German Landsknecht zweihänder, but with an even longer grip, taking it almost into the polearm realm. Hello !
This low-poly, animated asset includes an old warehouse and a crane. Its a machine developed by the german manufacturer Sennebogen,
the 3D model itself is a simplified version of the Sennebogen HD 655 E.
The animation starts with the first hit, then the crane slowly drives backwards, adjusts a new position for the wrecking ball and swings for the second hit on the warehouse.
All parts of the animation sequence are based on real life physics behaviour I made via a simulation in Blender software. The chain tracks move along together with the crane and the mechanical pistons are also animated.

Spring is coming and the volunteers and archaologists are getting the wattle and daub walls up on roundhouse, or rather getting the daub up on the wattle.
