So this is kinda like the Nameless Blade from Dragon Age: Inquisition that a friend suggest I make. I didn’t have as much time to work on it this week so it was actually a pretty quick job, less that a few hours of work. The texture job is pretty basic and I was mainly just trying things out in Substance Painter. So here is my first character almost fully sculpted on blender 2.81. It took me a few days to figure out how to represent Kaido on a 3d aspect. I took a basic draw of kaido and started sculpting with it in my background. The sculpting was done by mouse and I would say I worked on the model probably 10 hours in total.
The character has no scar on his body, let’s say this render is representing him before he got it :)
I was mainly focusing on making the best possible Kaido model using my skills, that’s why the background ( representing Onigashima, the residential island of Kaido ) looks this bad.

So this was a cool project to work on, I like sculpting weird artsy stuff and I’ve been trying to learn Speedtree and trees are pretty boring to look at for hours at a time while you’re trying to figure out what all the buttons and sliders do. I also had to learn a whole new workflow for this but it is what it is.
The concept was heavily inspired by ‘The Last Of Us’ in the beginning, I also wanted the body to be similar to my ‘Corpse Flower’ model since theyre both in a larger project together.
Initially while I was figuring out Speedtree this model had blue leaves so I was going for that Willow tree vibe but it wasnt looking right. The concept is, this barrel would have the power of a volcano and be highly unstable. Very rare and found only in the Devils Roar area of the map. The Barrel upon exploding would release a super-powerful volcanic blast which would not only send volcanic rock into the air at long distance but would also turn the water in the surrounding area super hot. Any ships within short distance would be damaged beyond repair and all avatars killed. This barrel is equivalent to a nuke in Sea of Thieves.
