The crown was melted by the Catholic League in 1590 and replaced by the queen’s crown, which was very similar but without a tiara. The queen’s crown was destroyed during the French Revolution. I thought this would be a cool idea and wanted to take the opportunity to create something new for the World of Warcraft universe. I thought of this idea because I wanted to take something that exists in real life and turn it into something that might live in the World of Warcraft, and I knew the Tuskarr would be a fun culture to delve into. Since they’re based on Walruses I came up with the Milk Delivery Sledge for transporting their milk across the icy places of Northrend and the Dragon Isles. I tried to make everything fit in with the Tuskarr aesthetic and had a lot of fun with it. I appreciate all the feedback I had throughout the process which allowed me to push the project further and I’m really happy with how it looks. After the fall of Quel’Thalas, Kael’thas led what remained of his people, the sin’dorei, in the service of the Alliance. A little remake of my previous project from 2003, the DJ5000. I wanted to see how far I’d come with the tools and my personal skills since then, and I think the results speak for themselves! Of course it helps that this is 44k triangles and utilizes several textures with the average size being 2048x2048, where the original from 2003 had only 445 triangles and a single 512x512 texture! So roughly this is about 100x more detailed than the original project! How far technology has come, and how far will it go further still. Real world scale. Barad-dûr, the “Dark Tower,” is a fictional place in J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth writings and is described in The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, and other works. It is an enormous fortress of the Dark Lord Sauron, whence he rules the volcanic and barren land of Mordor. Located in northwest Mordor, near Mount Doom, the Eye of Sauron keeps watch over Middle-earth from its highest tower. The name is pronounced “Ba’rad doorr” with emphasis placed on the “rr.” The Lieutenant of Barad-dûr is the Mouth of Sauron, who acts as an ambassador and herald for Mordor and Sauron. Barad-dûr was completed by Sauron in 1600 of the Second Age. It was destroyed following the victory of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men at the end of the age. Rebuilding began in the Third Age, 67 years before the War of the Ring. As the Dark Tower is held together by Sauron’s magic, it collapses upon the destruction of the One Ring.
