The typanum of the east wall of chamber C in the tomb of Sennedjem (TT1) in Deir el-Medina, Luxor, Egypt. Sennedjem was a mason who lived and worked in Deir el-Medina, the village of the tomb builders, during the 19th dynasty. You can also see one of Sennedjem’s coffins and mummy board which were recovered from the tomb when it was excavated in 1886. This modified lantern wall clock converted to a clockwork mechanism, exhibits an arched dial with detailed scrollwork. It has the name James Michell of London on its face. The clock is part of the collection from the Moseley Homestead, a National Register of Historic Places site in Brandon, Florida. The 1886 homestead was originally owned by Charles Scott Moseley and his wife Julia Daniels Moseley and later their descendants. Charles Scott Moseley was an inventor and watchmaker, including time as a watchmaker with the Elgin plant in Illinois, where he had a 40-year career as First Superintendent.
