Vasa was a Swedish warship that capsized and sank off Beckholmen in Stockholm's inlet on its maiden voyage, August 10, 1628. After some early unsuccessful attempts to rescue her in the 17th century, Vaasa was largely forgotten. The ship's approximate position remained known until the middle of the 19th century, but no serious attempts were made to salvage it. In 1956, the amateur researcher and engineer Anders Franzén, together with the diver Per Edvin Fälting, succeeded in re-establishing Vaasa's exact position and after several years of marine archeological excavations and preparations, Vasa was lifted above the water surface on April 24, 1961. Since 1990 the ship is included in a permanent exhibition in Stockholm. Until 1988, the wreck was stored in Wasavarvet, a temporary building that, in addition to being a combined conservation room, was allowed to function as a temporary museum. This is work in progress. This wooden sailship is most probably a 19th century wreck. It lies on 82 meters depth, north-east of Wladyslawowo, Poland. The cargo of this ship was grain - the white substance all over the wreck is mouldy grain. This wreck was visited as a part of Baltictech expedition organized in cooperation with National Maritime Museum in Gdansk. To our knowledge, it was only visited once before, by polish navy divers. No one else has ever seen this wreck. The model was created from over 7000 photographs taken during 35 minutes on the bottom, using a multiple camera and video lights rig mounted on a DPV 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 400000 polygons.

Marble 1685-1694
The emperor Claudius condemned the Roman senator Carcina Paetus to death for his involvmenet in a conspiracy.
His wife Arria stabbed herself, then passed the dagger to her husband, saying, ‘Paetus, it does not hurt’ - a celebrated example of virtue recounted by Latin authors.
To the right of Paetus, a cupid sitting astride a dog is a symbol of love and fidelity. This ambitious sculpture group was produced at the French Academy in Rome by the sculptors Jean-Baptiste Théodon then Pierre Lepautre; it was inspired by the great Roman sculptures of the 1650s.
