Originally a much simpler asset, I began creating this model in Blender as a simple exercise before deciding to take the project further by improving the geometry, texturing and overall design of the asset. This included adding barbwire which initially was easy to make, but became extremely tedious when implementing changes and so I created a custom generator tool to improve iteration time and with considerably more accuracy. This was then baked in Marmoset and later textured in Substance Painter, using two materials with 4K texture sheet (using overlapping UVs to maximise quality) and a non-destructive workflow for fast iteration, then finally rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3. This model is; Low poly, Specially made for games, Made in Maya, Used in Maya and Unreal engine. It works, Textured in substance painter, Draw calls count 1, unwrapped.
An advice for Unreal engine. When import the model, make sure to check the combine mesh to get it in one piece, and uncheck “transform vertex to absolute” to avoid any problem.

A simple looking rat trap, I created this asset during a school project consisting of a mini-game where you played as a mouse in a hunter’s cabin, trying to steel all the cheese and to escape. For this project I made a bunch of rustic meshes including this one. All assets are lowpoly, videogame friendly and come with 2048 textures. They were all made in 3DsMax with textures created using Substance.
