When I began studying 3D Animation & VFX, I had challenged myself to create a model from scratch to get a feel for Maya, the program I had shifted to at the beginning of my course. The texture set was created using Substance Painter, which I had found complicated to use but managable since in some respects it was similar to Photoshop, a program I am very familar with. Moving on to the asset itself, I decided to create the fabled Colt from the TV show supernatural. This project took longer than I want to admit, with there being tweaks in the model and textures throughout the whole ordeal. The model itself is my interpretation of The Colt, using reference images from the TV show itself and other sources that provided details such as the engravings on the gun. Overall, the project was fun to make and I’m quite pleased with the final results. On a side note, the model may take quite a while to load due to the amount of shaders used 3D Model is ready to download for free
