My submission to the sports car texturing challenge. I didn't have much time to work on it around other more important art projects and life obligations. I figured it would still be good to upload what I could get done at least. Originally I was going to do a classic Gulf paint scheme but some friends had the fun idea of doing a Duff beer theme instead. I did all the texture in Substance Painter with some editing in Photoshop for the textures I downloaded. Made this floating island with a lighthouse in 5 days trying to be done by the end of the week. And I gotta say, this was a marathon. Were a lot of troubles with baking, making fine details. If I had more time I would probably did separate bakes, but not this time. So, about the model: it’s a handpainted lowpoly with baked map from a highpoly. Triangles count: 27,5K. I was going with anime style (Miyazaki movies) and for reference I used artworks of Jim Shore (“Benatrex - Shorelights”), you’ll notice the lighthouse that I recreated.
