Got together with a bunch of my buddies one morning and we all took tons of photos (1780) while another friend flew a drone over and around the arch to get the above photos (another 1739). Here's a screengrab that shows all the camera angles we captured, including the drone shots: The arch is over 24 meters (80 feet) tall and it's right in the middle of a high traffic intersection, so it presents many challenges, and I'm not even talking about all the trees around it. It's my first large-scale scan and I hit so many walls with getting it to come out well, largely because ZBrush has a 50 million polygon limit. Anyway, this is the first of many. Imported my old cathedral build and updated it with new blocks, new building techniques, and new surroundings. It was a self-challenge to see how realistic I can make it using only blocks/textures/techniques available in vanilla minecraft. The map was made on a 1.8 build server but packed & uploaded in 1.12.
Had to remove some features from the map during export due to technical difficulties, so it’s better to check out the map ingame if you can. The lightmap res is pretty small for each block due to the number of blocks in the whole scene.
