Overlooking the ztown of Oldmeldrum, the impressive and well preserved hillfort of Barra Hill sits at summit of a distinctive hill, with excellent views of Bennachie to the west and Tap o' Noth hillfort some 20km further west. The hillfort consists of three major lines of ramparts, with an additional fourth on the northern side extending for approximately 50m. Spring is coming and the volunteers and archaologists are getting the wattle and daub walls up on roundhouse, or rather getting the daub up on the wattle.
