Bacchus Mosaic from Antioch (325-330 CE) 3D Model 2026-07-16
Economic prosperity in the city of Antioch, a vital agricultural and commercial center at the crossroads of the Roman Empire and strategically located on the N-S-E-W axis of the silk road, created an extensive middle-class population that was wealthy, sophisticated, cosmopolitan, and of course, liked a good party. Villas in this region were often opulently decorated with stunning wall frescos and floor mosaics, like this medallion of the wine god Bacchus. This floor mosaic was initially located in the entrance hall of a Roman villa as part of a much larger floor that included the similar mosaic also posted to this feed. As guests walked across the floor mosaic, these images of the wine god Bacchus and his “Thiasus,” or retinue of dedicated followers, would have created an atmosphere of wine-drinking revelry and merriment! Such a mosaic would suggest to guests that you enjoyed an excellent raucous dinner party with wine and all the delicious accompaniments!

Maria Fjodorovna Barjatinskaja (1793 -1858), made in 1818, Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770 - 1844), plaster, height: 180 cm. Reference number: A172. Thorvaldsen museum (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with ReMake and ReCap from AutoDesk. The Russian Princess Maria Barjatinskaja came to Rome in 1818 with her husband. At his wish, she was modelled by Thorvaldsen. The marble sculpture was created in 1821-25, but was never delivered. After the Princess’s death, her family demanded to have the statue handed over, but instead accepted a copy made by Thorvaldsen’s most important Danish apprentice, the sculptor H. W. Bissen. Today the sculpture is in the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. For more updates, please follow @GeoffreyMarchal on Twitter. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 425508 polygons.

ENG- Baelo Claudia is one of Andalucia´s most significant and well-preserved Roman archeological sites. The extensive ruins are situated on the Costa de la Luz, some 15km north of Tarifa, by the small town of Bolonia and its beautiful beach. The site´s important history rests on the former city having been a strategic point for trade routes between Europe and North Africa; the Straits of Gibraltar are just 14km wide at their narrowest point, and Baelo Claudia profited from this proximity. The remains of the impressive temple, Forum, basilica, baths, aqueduct, and large fish-salting factory in particular, can all be seen today, giving an insight into the former glory of the city. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 748496 polygons.

Caerlaverock Castle stands largely complete and is amongst the foremost examples of Scottish medieval secular architecture. Its triangular-shaped curtain wall is unique in Britain, and the Nithsdale Lodging within, dating from the 1630s, is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Scotland. Caerlaverock Castle was the chief seat of the Maxwells, one of the great noble families in southern Scotland. The castle is famous in history and literature through its siege by Edward I of England in 1300, commemorated in the contemporary poem, The Siege of Caerlaverock. It was captured in 1640 by the Covenanters after a protracted siege and thereafter abandoned as a lordly residence. Check out our Caerlaverock collection here. Jabal Tuwaiq (Arabic: جَبَل طُوَيْق, Tuwaiq Mountain) is a narrow escarpment that cuts through the plateau of Najd in central Arabia, running approximately 800 km (500 mi) from the southern border of Al-Qasim in the north, to the northern edge of the Empty Quarter desert near Wadi ad-Dawasir in the south. It is 600 m (2,000 ft) high and also has a Middle Jurassic stratigraphic section. The eastern side slopes downwards gradually, while the western side ends in an abrupt manner. The escarpment can be thought of as a narrow plateau, though the locals refer to it as a jebel (“mount”). Marshall Cavendish used the name “Tuwayr Mountains” to describe mountains of central Arabia, distinct from the Shammar in the north, the Dhofar in the south, and the Hajar to the east. Many narrow valleys (wadis) run along its sides, such as Wadi Hanifa, and a group of towns lie on its central section, including the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Many settlements have historically existed on either side of it as well… Wikipedia.org 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 248750 polygons.
