Hello, this is my version of “Apylon, the Soul-Render” by Blizzard.
I felt like this is such a cool sword, I wanted to give it a remake, and ended up making a sword quite different from Blizzards own style.
For modelling I used.
“3DS Max” (basemesh, retopo cleanup, and unwrap) & “ZBrush” for the highpoly.
Texturing:
xNormals (Baking), Substance Painter for most of the textures, and Photoshop for editing the Emission map a little. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1804 polygons.

The main intention behind this gun was to make it look old, rugged and intimidating, combining these to give an old-school feel. The mechanism of this gun is similar to a modern minigun, the body holds the magazine on hooks which makes reloading a slow task. The style of holding the gun is tacky due to that it makes the gun a bit unstable for the user giving it a hard recoil momentum and an old-school feeling. The gun has two gauge meters one indicating the temperature and another one showing the amount of remaining bullets in the magazine. I wanted to try a colour scheme different from the basic steampunk colours (Golden/Brown), to make it look different from other weapons. This 8 barreled gun falls under the Heavy Machine Gun category for the project. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 62792 polygons.
