SR-71 “Blackbird” is a long-range, high-altitude, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed and manufactured by the American aerospace company Lockheed Corporation. It was operated by both the United States Air Force and NASA.
The shape of the SR-71 was based on concept of A-12, which was one of the first aircraft to be designed with a reduced radar cross-section. At one point, a bomber variant of the aircraft was under consideration, before the program was focused solely on reconnaissance. Mission equipment for the reconnaissance role included signals intelligence sensors, a side-looking airborne radar, and a photo camera.

An ancient Egyptian figurine of a woman with bird-like features and ‘puncture’ decoration. Object curated by the The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature (formerly the South Florida Museum), Bradenton, FL. This object (#A143), is from the Tallant collections received in c. 1940. This piece was noted by archaeologist John Mann Goggin as possibly being related to the Glades III Period in Florida prehistory (AD 1200-1763). Goggin only saw images and a drawing of the piece, and its true provenance and dating remain unknown. The small, 10.5 cm high piece appears to be that of an anthropomorphic owl.
