In Kameoka city near Kyoto the castle is not there anymore but the walls remains. In fact they have been rebuilt to restore some of the former beauty of this location.
I captured 3 walls sections, the interesting thing here is the technique used to build the wall. Instead of well joined and polished stones here huge rocks are pilled up and smaller rocks fill the space between. It was suposedly designed to allow to hear soldiers cllimbing the wall as they would eventally let a small rock fall.
This third wall is a low wall before a gate to enter the castle ground. This wall as fewer and big stones taht fit well together. Some stomes are recycled from other building as testify the carving tah tcan be seen in many stomes used in this castle. Oda Nobunaga ordered this Castle contruction as a base for the invasion of Tanba region. I remember when i watched Tangled, The scene that left the deepest impression on me was this scene, the floating lights, the reflection in contrast to the dark of the night and the calm of the lake, it took my breath away and i didn’t even notice they already started singing.
I guess it might be cool to recreate scenes i like in order to also study the reasons i like them :)

So this is a model based on a concept art I found in Pinterest, which is this one:
The original art is made by Peet Cooper.
As I saw I thought “this would be nice to be turned into a 3D model. So I started working on it. The funny thing is that as I finished modeling it, I realized that MANY other people had done that before. Many high poly versions of that conceptwere linked to the pincture, but I hadn’t seen them before. Anyway I decided to finish it as I really lik the style. So I really hope you guys like it even if you knew some of the other 3D models based on this concept.
I really enjoyed the process and learn some things.
