In my learning journey and deep dive into 3D art, I’ve decided to exercise my modeling and texturing skills by recreating objects that wonder my affective memory, from that came the idea to recreate a series of Y2K and 2010s electronic props. While having a short life span in the ever racing world of portable electronics, these props were iconic in their time and have been ressurging as nostalgic millennials reach maturity. The first chosen model is a Cybershot digital camera by Sony. Widely spread throughout the 2000s the are being reclaimed as a contrapoint against smartphone’s multifunctionality and high quality cameras. Present in my childhood, and certainly lost in some drawer in my house, I decided to pay homage to this forgotten piece of my younger years. Thanks for rating my work! This picanto is based on a scan of my mum’s little 2011 kia picanto, her’s is black but it doesnt look that good in black neither irl nor here… Its a 2011 model year, on EX3 trim which it doesnt say anywhere but in its registration, features a quite anemic 1.0 litre 4 cylinder engine with 3 valve per cylinder, 12 valve in total, which develops a racecar-worthy 65hp (wow). It is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow but very fun to drive and can do highway speeds (but just about) and if you and your family are not fat 5*** people in it. The trunk, however is pityful, cant even fit its own spare if it doesnt go in its designed well. It has amazing turn radius, light and zippy steering and very responsive suspension, aswell as a very good gear shifter, feels really good but its a shame its all paired with a handheld powerdrill for an engine.
