I designed the character based around ancient Feudal Japan and sumo wrestlers. This project took longer than usual, but I learned a great deal while working on it.

This is my fourth time joining the Artstation Challenge, and I still learn as much as the previous times. The real challenge is accepting that not everything will be perfect. Everyone can make a perfect model, given enough time, but the time-limit here gives you the perfect opportunity to learn how to prioritize. This semi stylized character was a LOT of work. Like for real. I had a lot of fun though! Especially the texturing process really brought her to shine! I did struggle quite a lot with the face though, and it still didn’t quite turn out as I wanted it to. However, I think it turned out neat overall.
