  Nincada 3D Model 2023-11-04
A fun side project with the goal of recreating a Pokemon card with the picture being 3D. This card is actually one which I have, and chose because I like the style and the parallax layers, and thought it would be an easy one to try out. I definitely want to do more of these in the future! The most difficult part was actually just that Maya wouldnt render so many planes at once. So I had to reupload as a draft to sketchfab to check the model, and tehn make my changes based on the sketchfab model. Just another weird model, this time mix between ent and imp, that for some time I had in my folder under codename Verto and just waited to get rigged. Idea was to make tad smaller ent that would act like imp in forest but would not be so weak as most of folklore show them, something similar to some of Japanse Oni demons. Model is rigged, it contain two PBR materials. Made in Blender. Ps. I did 2 different meshes for the grass, added a cut in the center to bend each grass in an opposite direction. This way it’s nearly impossible to see the faces from above. In the Particle View, I used a data operator (Event) with Matrix operands and Quaternion rotation in order to align particles to the normals of a sphere. Very useful to scatter objects on an uneven surface.
