Here’s an older model I built for the Star Wars Clone Wars TV series. It’s from season 2 Episode 17 “Bounty Hunters”. It’s has a rough painterly diffuse which is fed straight into the bump channel, and little to no gloss, as was characteristic of that show. The mesh is fairly high res for a realtime asset as it was built to be automatically subdivided during the rendering process. This is the final version of my first 3D assignment for Howest DAE.
I had a lot of fun working on it, especially the texturing, as we were now allowed to use anything like substance painter, marmoset etc. Everything had to either be done in photoshop or maya and we could pretty much only use an albedo and some transparency. It was a challange to get the textures looking good without any roughness or normals, but I think I learned a lot from it.
