After playing some Alien: Isolation I just had to make this model. After a day and a half of work, fueled mainly by hip hop, it is complete. The face detail is actually all texture work and the face geometry itself is completely flat. I could have used a high-low poly bake but I decided instead to use an alpha and the height map stamping effect in Substance Painter as I was going to be spending a lot of time authoring the texture for the face text anyway I might as well just make an alpha for the imprint (also my laptop would probably just melt if I tried to work with a high poly with enough polygons). During the process I used Zbrush for the blocking, 3Ds max for the UVs and some of the modeling, Substance Painter for baking and first texture pass, 3D coat for retopo and final texture painting and Photoshop for final texture polish.
