This was my summer project before starting second year at DMU Game Art, although due to some module mix up, I spent about 3 weeks revisiting it on and off. The brief was to make a 10m x 10m realistic-style castaway island, using substance painter to texture. I originally planned to do a pirate-themed island and made extra props, but realised that they just didn’t work at all with the scene. Instead I’ve kept it very basic and natural. My first attempt at handpaint (well, months ago I did one with the mouse, but that doesn’t count :P), and I’m really really satisfied with the mood of the scene and the result :D It’s quite a change from my usual style.
It began as an approach to modeling in 3dsMax with the Master Sword, then with the shield… and I couldn’t resist, I had to make the scene. Textured and animated with Blender.
It was really fun to make this one… I hope you like it! :)
