When the insects are drawn in by the light and the scent, they become trapped in the feathers of the antennae, which function as a natural trap. This was a lunchtime project where I wanted to explore baking down high poly details onto a low poly model inside the normal map. All detials were modelled inside 3ds Max as floating geometry and baked down in stages then re-compiled in Quixel’s ndo before texturing in ddo.
