This is a digitized section of the “Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper” exhibit at Louisville, Kentucky’s Speed Art Museum.

“The name Triceratops means three-horned face, referring to the one small and two large horns on the skull, which can be seen on the cast on display in the Museum.

Vasa was a Swedish warship that capsized and sank off Beckholmen in Stockholm’s inlet on its maiden voyage, August 10, 1628. After some early unsuccessful attempts to rescue her in the 17th century, Vaasa was largely forgotten.
The ship’s approximate position remained known until the middle of the 19th century, but no serious attempts were made to salvage it. In 1956, the amateur researcher and engineer Anders Franzén, together with the diver Per Edvin Fälting, succeeded in re-establishing Vaasa’s exact position and after several years of marine archeological excavations and preparations, Vasa was lifted above the water surface on April 24, 1961.
Since 1990 the ship is included in a permanent exhibition in Stockholm. Until 1988, the wreck was stored in Wasavarvet, a temporary building that, in addition to being a combined conservation room, was allowed to function as a temporary museum. This is work in progress. This building is located in Tbilisi at the top of the Digomi Hills. It used to be a water tank, but in the late 1980s the tank was remodeled and there were plans to open an archaeology museum in it. Unfortunately, the museum was never opened. The building has stood empty and semi-abandoned ever since.
