In Kameoka city near Kyoto the castle is not there anymore but the walls remains. In fact they have been rebuilt to restore some of the former beauty of this location.
I captured 3 walls sections, the interesting thing here is the technique used to build the wall. Instead of well joined and polished stones here huge rocks are pilled up and smaller rocks fill the space between. It was suposedly designed to allow to hear soldiers cllimbing the wall as they would eventally let a small rock fall.
This third wall is a low wall before a gate to enter the castle ground. This wall as fewer and big stones taht fit well together. Some stomes are recycled from other building as testify the carving tah tcan be seen in many stomes used in this castle. Oda Nobunaga ordered this Castle contruction as a base for the invasion of Tanba region. The version to the right has a single 1024x1024 texture while the Left is the 4096x4096 Version. The 1024x1024 version suffers a little bit due to sketchfab texture compression but should look cleaner in your target engine if compression quality is set to high or none.
Note that the model features partially mirrored UVs in order to increase the pixel density.
For correct rotations in Unity engine you might need to tick the “Bake axis conversion” import option when importing the FBX.
Note that an additional 128x128 texture set is used for the 9x19mm Bullets inside the weapon on the right version while the left one uses a 1024x1024 texture for the bullet.

This work is based on a Sketchup-file. Unfortunately I don´t remember the name of its author. Anyway, thanks for the great model! Several years ago I converted and repaired it into a watertight STL-file. Sadly the resolution of the model is only useful for printing in small scales.
My purpose is to provide watertight STL-files for you, which can easily be modified for 3D-printing, according to your references. Therefore, most of my models are not repaired into one single shell. This may be a bit more difficult for the preparation of the build, but helps you a lot, if you want to personalize the model. E.g. if you want to seperate parts, such as wheels or to remove delicate details like wipers etc.
Before printing, please check out if you have to modify the model, depending on the favored size of your print and the requirements of your printer. I hope you enjoy it. Happy printing!
