An update of my old low poly TIE fighter model, with windows cut in and a low poly interior, complete with pilot, added- adds a ton of depth and realism. None of it is meant to hold up in closeups, but it looks great from afar. The whole thing is ~5.5k tris, so if you want a hangar full or a fleet of them, it won’t slow down your scene. Perfect for all your imperial needs!
PBR textures made in Substance Painter. The exterior is 2k, the interior is 1k, the pilot is 512x512.
Cutting in the windows a couple years after the outside model was done made for some very messy topology around them, but the overall ship is still low poly enough, and no one will notice. The glass is also currently single-sided, just to be more performant than trying to have glass with thickness and refraction. Not sure if this is animated or static, I was trying to go for a “looping Idle” sort of motion so you can really soak in the feeling of screaming across the desert in a podracer, rather than a specific segment of the story.
One major focus was getting this optimized to work on mobile VR, and I think I’ve done that reasonably well. As with my other star wars ships, this model was also modelled and textured in Blender and Microsoft Paint. JSPlacement was also used when creating the hull plating texture.
Edit; I was told that there were apparently 2 variants of this star destroyer; the imperial-I class, and the imperial-II class. I was also told that the one I have here resembles the imperial-II variant, but since I don’t know the differences between variants, I don’t really know.
