This little project of mine aimed at introducing a new customizable weapon in Fallout 4. The idea would've been to take a revolver body and outfit it with a custom barrel to shoot 12ga slugs. Everything was made to fit into the “homemade" and post-apocalyptic design in mind, from the oil filter suppressor to the crutch stock or the aluminium can muzzle brake. This was my first project on Substance Painter. I'm pretty happy with the result on IRay. Problem is I still have trouble rendering correctly in another engine, like Mental Ray. Any tips and advices will be welcome. Since I have no experience on Fallout 4 creation kit (only used FO3's and FNV's), it is unlikely this weapon will be included in the game. The UAZ-452 was taken as the basis. I wanted to make something incredible and extreme out of this car.
Therefore, I decided to make a prototype for asphalt ring roads. The car has developed aerodynamics and a good power-to-weight ratio, so the speed should be good. When creating this project, I was inspired by advanced solutions in the creation of racing cars from leading auto manufacturers such as McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche and others.
This is the first 3D model of the car in May and the first project of this level of complexity, but I liked it, I will improve further in this direction.

Here’s my latest project, a Smith & Wesson 66-8 .357 Revolver. This has a good amount of parts to it, so to have everything bake out right I had to bake by mesh name. I learned two things - that baking by mesh name is case sensitive, and trying to use an .fbx before it’s fully exported just doesn’t work. It corrupts your exported file. Just so you know.
With the textures, I used a combination of materials and masks to mimic dirt, grime, and soot from repeated use. I had to make about 7 alphas for all the height details.
I had to adjust some materials so it’d read better as metal instead of stone, as well as adjusting the damage information and swapping out some normals that I wasn’t satisfied with. Time to call this model finished for now.
