The orthography of the inscription is rather unusual: the scribe apparently tried to arrange the text so that it would consist of 20 characters in 11 segments (blocks) with an extra visual emphasis on the word “eternal (bolon tz’akbuul)”. A victorian era fruit plate from my victorian still life.
It was done in Blender, Substance Designer, Substance Painter and 3D Coat.
To create the engravings on the plate, I modeled and rendered the shapes in Blender as a height map and used them as a brush in sculpt mode with radial symmetry in Blender and as an alpha with radial symmetry in Substance Painter.
The translucency material for the grapes was a little tricky in realtime render engines and since I didn’t like the SSS result in Sketchfab, I used refractive opacity to fake the translucency 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 29182 polygons.
