Herre i have the final piece for my big second year project for uni. This is only half way though because with the modular kit that was made by making this i can make more of the buildings from Diagon Alley
Overall though this is about 24 hours in the making using
- Maya for most of the building modeling, retopo and Uving
- Zbrush for the creation of the high poly version of the character
- Substance painter/designer for all of the textrues that are on this

I’ve been working on this project since mid January now and it’s finally finished! Everything is modelled in Blender and the textures are painted in Photoshop. Diffuse and Alpha maps only.
I thought I would create a scene with a small story behind it.
The mysterious tiny wizard was experimenting with his rare mandrake Root and home grown crystals. He found an old recepice on how to create a special magic potion with the ancient root. By trying it out, he mixes the wrong ingredients together, which turns out to be a magic spell for opening portals. This is the final version of my first 3D assignment for Howest DAE.
I had a lot of fun working on it, especially the texturing, as we were now allowed to use anything like substance painter, marmoset etc. Everything had to either be done in photoshop or maya and we could pretty much only use an albedo and some transparency. It was a challange to get the textures looking good without any roughness or normals, but I think I learned a lot from it.
