This vestment set once belonged to Bishop James Gillis, the Vicar Apostolic to the Eastern District of Scotland from 1852 to 1864.
The chasuble is French and probably dates from the nineteenth century. Called a ‘fiddle back’ because of its shape, it is made of cloth of gold and lavishly embroidered with roses and lilies as symbols of Our Lady. The central design is worked mostly in bullions and depicts the Lamb of God on the Book With Seven Seals. This building is located in Tbilisi at the top of the Digomi Hills. It used to be a water tank, but in the late 1980s the tank was remodeled and there were plans to open an archaeology museum in it. Unfortunately, the museum was never opened. The building has stood empty and semi-abandoned ever since.

Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York.
Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.
