Quite possibly my longest project. So long, in fact, that I had to squeeze two projects in between to rest my eyes. But the concept is so good that I wanted to do it justice and recreate it as faithfully as I could. The most challenging bit was the grass and I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to render it. In the end I used partially transparent planes with painted texture. It isn't best suited for 3D inspection, the illusion quickly falls appart, but I learned a new technique that will help me in future projects. This is a project I’ve been working on for around a week and a half. I was set a project by my University to create a “well” in any style. I’ve always loved how stylized/hand-painted assets look in games such as World of Warcraft, League of Legends etc. So I wanted to take it upon myself to attempt this style.
