Exterior and interior of a so called smoke cabin, from the 15th or 16th century. Ruins of the cabin were found at the archaeological excavations of the medieval village Gubbacka in present day Vantaa in Finland. People and some of the domestic animals of the village live together inside the cabin during the cold winter. The large furnace covers one fourth of the total floor area. Modeling, layout, and Texturing of a late medieval queen’s room.
From inspiration my wife drew, I wanted to take a sketch she did and build it in 3d.
I’ve always been drawn to environment and prop modeling and sculpting, so this was a great learning process. I cycled through modeling about 5 or 6 different tables before I finally settled on the ones seen here.
