I’ve been working on this project since mid January now and it’s finally finished! Everything is modelled in Blender and the textures are painted in Photoshop. Diffuse and Alpha maps only.
I thought I would create a scene with a small story behind it.
The mysterious tiny wizard was experimenting with his rare mandrake Root and home grown crystals. He found an old recepice on how to create a special magic potion with the ancient root. By trying it out, he mixes the wrong ingredients together, which turns out to be a magic spell for opening portals. Here is a sample of a studio’s test I recently had. It aims at photorealistic 2k textures with a limited polygon count. I am fairly happy with the result and am thinking of more projects of such type. Modeling has been achieved through Maya and Zbrush, Texturing with Substance 3D Painter + Photoshop vectors for logos and texts; Rendering has been done with Marmoset Toolbag.
