Well, this model was a lot of work, but it was made with a lot of love. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a Star Wars grid fan, so if I propose to do something with Star Wars, I try to do it as detailed as possible, always following photo references of the original props.

Very happy with this one- a low poly pbr model of an A-wing, somewhere in between the Star Wars: Rebels and Return of the Jedi versions, complete with a low detail cockpit interior and pilot, and some of my best textures yet. The overall proportions and colorscheme are inspired by Rebels, but the engine tips, split nose and laser cannons are more like RotJ– really this design could go anywhere in the post-Clone Wars timeline.
The glass material uses the same textures as the hull, so if you had a huge fleet and wanted to improve performance, you can apply the hull material to the whole thing to have opaque black shiny glass, and then you could delete the pilot too to save on his material. On the other hand, if you want to get fancier and add some refraction to the glass, the glass pieces are their own separate elements, so it is easy to select them and add a little bit of thickness with a shell/solidify modifier in your 3D software of choice. Some lights in the engines will also make it look fancier. Some work I did at the beginning of the year for Messy Desk Interactive’s The Orville Interactive Fan Experience: building out a Krill Destroyer starship. This thing was, honestly, a nightmare to do, but I’m glad I took it on. Quite low-poly. This model is of a little-known ship from Empire Strikes Back, a tiny distant TIE shuttle that looks like a bomber with inverted wings, which Captain Needa uses to apologize to Vader in person. This model is mostly based on Jason Eaton’s rendition of the ship in the ‘TIE Fighter Owner’s Manual,’ but with some personal tweaks such as new engines and a thin viewport into the passenger compartment. A larger transport TIE, the TIE Boarding Craft can be seen in Rogue One and Andor, this guy’s not the most spacious! Quite a bit more detailed than my TIE fighter.
4 sets of textures- one for the wings, for the body, for the interior, and for the pilot. The interior and TIE pilot textures are the same as the ones in my regular TIE fighter model. If Sketchfab supported UDIMs, everything could be in 1 material using multiple UV tiles, but for now, it’s 5 separate materials (one more to be able to dial in the glass transparency, even though it uses the body textures.)
