A 3D model inspired by the The Vast Land / A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, by Wang ximeng, a painter of the Norther Song dynasnty, China. Painted in 1113, Wang Ximeng was only 18 years old when he painted the master piece. To the disappointment of everyone, including the artist Emperor Huizong, who personally taught him, Wang Ximeng died shortly after, depriving us of any further masterpieces. The painting is now in Palace Musuem Beijin, and was influiential for many generations to come!

Electricity Spider procedural walking, and because I’m limited to 100 mb, I made a few concessions; it’s animated on 2s.
There is some loss of subtlety in the motion but it still has that uneasy feeling.
The reason why I went for a 3D model and not a video because it’s different from other angles so please rotate the camera. Also the added beauty of the many, many variations that can be produced, largely down to the procedural network. Different walks, amount of legs, size of the feet to name but a few. Here’s the result of a project i’ve been working on over the last few months. the model is a re-interpretation of an imperial knight gallant from warhammer 40k. the main model was modelled and rigged in blender and textured in substance painter. The base was made using destruction simulations in Houndini out of a mesh made in blender.
