Afther watching the northman i realy got into viking age stuff again. So i made a helmet losely based on a lot of pictures i found so its not realy historicaly accurate. The chainmail and engraving is modeled for a change so that was quite a challange. The harquebusier was the most common form of cavalry found throughout Western Europe during the early to mid-17th century. Early harquebusiers were characterised by the use of a type of carbine called a “harquebus”. In England, harquebusier was the technical name for this type of cavalry, though in everyday usage they were usually simply called ‘cavalry’ or ‘horse’. The 3D model presents a digital reconstruction of solid and riveted rings of archaeological mail armour. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters. This list includes 11 parameters for a riveted ring and four parameters for a solid ring.
