The Shokúl are ancient warriors, fallen in battle who have been reanimated to serve their former Shogun. They are immensely strong and tower several feet above a mere mortal. The expression on its face no longer resembles the person that it once was. I designed the character based around ancient Feudal Japan and sumo wrestlers. This project took longer than usual, but I learned a great deal while working on it. Tech: Character Triangles: 38551 with 2k maps (Body-hair 1k). Bell Triangles: 17464 with 2k maps. This project is roughly 4 weeks in the making and is by far the most fun I’ve been with modeling a character. I modeled this in Zbrush and modeled the props and weapons in Maya. Hair was a bit of a challenge but I was inclined to keep it simple. I textured Ram Warrior in Substance Painter and posed him in Zbrush using ZSpheres. This is the first of hopefully many sculpts/models I’ll be doing in the near future. It’s admittedly been about 5 years since I’ve used Zbrush, and I’m fixing that TODAY.
A lot of the bits are janky, but it was a fun practice run. Hoping I didn’t do the concept art too much of an injustice.
