This is a diorama created from one of Jenny Brozek's concepts ‘The Gate' found on Artstation. I really loved the concept when I saw it and was desperate to make it in 3D. It was a really nice project to sink time and effort into and I learnt a lot throughout the process. I created the model in Maya, Textured in Substance Painter to get the basic textures and colours down before taking the maps into Photoshop to start the painting process. I appreciate Jenny for letting me make her awesome concept come alive in 3D and I hope you guys like it too :). Thanks for looking! This tower has long since been abandoned by its former occupants and lies in ruin. I used the Warhammer 40k models Witchfate Tor and Dreadstone Blight as my main references for the design of the tower. I started this model in Maya, blocking in all the shapes. Then I moved to ZBrush and sculpted in detail. In hindsight, I wish I had made this a more modular blockout because I ran out of time sculpting each individual piece. After I had sculpted enough to finish baking my Game Res mesh I moved to texturing in Substance Painter. It took a bit of time to get my UV’s laid out well enough to have the resolution I wanted, and I ended up going from 1 texture set to 2 in order to achieve the level of detail I wanted.
