Asset made for a game production class. I worked with a team of designers on a dark, low-poly RPG and created a bunch of different assets, but this one was one of my favorites. I’ve been working on this project since mid January now and it’s finally finished! Everything is modelled in Blender and the textures are painted in Photoshop. Diffuse and Alpha maps only.
I thought I would create a scene with a small story behind it.
The mysterious tiny wizard was experimenting with his rare mandrake Root and home grown crystals. He found an old recepice on how to create a special magic potion with the ancient root. By trying it out, he mixes the wrong ingredients together, which turns out to be a magic spell for opening portals. Abandoned portal
Made this portal for a project of mine that I never finished because I got stuck in unsignificant details. The main story of the project was about a girl that used to come and sit down by the portal waiting for her friend to return. The portal shut down many years ago and nobody could get in contact with those that were on the other side.
The cement component was sculpted to create small cracks and imperfections around the edges. (baked onto the low poly model)
