I’ve been working on this project since mid January now and it’s finally finished! Everything is modelled in Blender and the textures are painted in Photoshop. Diffuse and Alpha maps only.
I thought I would create a scene with a small story behind it.
The mysterious tiny wizard was experimenting with his rare mandrake Root and home grown crystals. He found an old recepice on how to create a special magic potion with the ancient root. By trying it out, he mixes the wrong ingredients together, which turns out to be a magic spell for opening portals. I’ve been studying ancient egyptian culture for a story I’m writing and when I hit a wall I decided to create a staff to see if I could get inspired again. I based myself on Tutankhamun’s crook and flail and combined some iconic symbols from ancient egypt, like the djed, the ankh and the scarab . I also added Cleopatra’s name in egyptian hieroglyphs.
