Vyborg Castle is a Swedish-built medieval fortress around which the town of Vyborg (today in Russia) evolved. It was originally constructed in the 1290s on the site of Karelian fortress after the Third Swedish Crusade to Finland. The town was originally located inside the outer fortifications of the castle. Another 1 and a half week project of a medieval heavy crossbow. Inspired after a portfolio critique and been wanting to create a medieval/fantasy inspired piece for some time now.
Modelling done in Maya with certain detailed parts such as the wood carvings and stock ornaments done with the help of Zbrush and photoshop. Textured with substance painter and rendering done on Unreal engine 5.
This might be my last project in a while since I have an actual full time job that I have to attend to, however I will be back with more projects in the future and will keep on improving my skills as required. A 14th century farmer using a heavy plough pulled by oxen.
I was approached by BuildersBrew to create a small diorama of a Medieval Farmer ploughing the fields, this was based off of some references provided and is to be used within the immersive mobile app for The Chester House Estate.
Conservation with the overall tricount, texture space and alpha usage in the project was important to make sure the model could load well in the application, the texture for the character was 4k for this render however this was reduced to 2k in the application and the overall tricount came in at around 70k for the whole project.
This was a short project taking around 3 weeks to produce, It was a good experience to see how fast i could get some good sculpts through zbrush as well as getting workable clothing through marvelous designer.
