A stylised plane originally i nspired from the Macchi M33 seaplane! (the one featured in the studio ghibli film porco rosso) This design is way fatter and i tried to add as much weight as i could and get it into the whale theme while still keeping it consistent and somewhat matching with the original plane. Everything went along swimmingly outside of texturing and animation as those are the two i havent dabbled that much in, especially since this is my first time creating a stylised texture, think it went well though! This was made for the course “Game Art" in DAE and im quite proud of my work! We have to make stylised interbellum aircraft and make those in a particular style, feel free to look the assignment up and you will see many other great examples! This is the final version of my first 3D assignment for Howest DAE.
I had a lot of fun working on it, especially the texturing, as we were now allowed to use anything like substance painter, marmoset etc. Everything had to either be done in photoshop or maya and we could pretty much only use an albedo and some transparency. It was a challange to get the textures looking good without any roughness or normals, but I think I learned a lot from it.
