My rendition of the Halberd-class Destroyer from Halo. I may/may not texture this. The Halberd-class destroyer is a heavy escort classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to direct ship combat and assaults. Also known as the Thanatos-class, the Halberd is a surprising ship, and very superior to Frigates in ship-to-ship combat. Her armor is thicker than even a Paris's, she has two MAC cannons, more missile launchers, a number of auto turrets, and for all that extra weight is still fast and agile. Destroyers are often the first ships to engage the enemy, and can take on Covenant cruisers in small groups. This is my first time making 3D character art, so it took long to make this model. I was never satisfied with the body and textures of the Elite, so I was constantly changing and adding things. After the Elite was finally finished, I decided out of the blue that the Elite needed a plasma rifle. Then I had to model that gun too, which also took a million years…
However, it was the most fun personal project I’ve ever done, and I learned so much from it! I will definitely be making more character art in the future.
The alien in question is a Covenant Elite Zealot or Sangheili Zealot. I’m a huge fan of Halo and I was shocked to realize I’ve never done 3D Halo stuff before. So I chose to make an HD remake of the classic Halo CE elite zealot, with some of my own changes here and there.
