Dating: Late 4th-5th century CE. A helmet from burial 782. Tarasov burial site. In the article “Helmets of the Tarasovsky burial ground" this burial is called female, and in the publication of the monument - male. The iron helmet with brashers and bronze plates is 20 x 13.5 cm. It consists of narrow iron vertical strips. On top is a plate of round (?) shape. A narrow bronze plate with notched edges was riveted to the rim of the helmet. The helmet is in the legs. The Eastern Columbia Building is a thirteen-storey Art Deco building, designed by Claud Beelman, in the Broadway Theatre District of downtown Los Angeles. It opened on September 12, 1930, after just nine months of construction.
At the time of construction, the City of Los Angeles enforced a height limit of 46m, however the decorative clock tower was granted an exemption, allowing the clock a total height of 80m.
The building has been characterized as the benchmark of art deco buildings in Los Angeles and as one of the “grand dames of Art Deco Streamline Moderne in Los Angeles”.
The Eastern Columbia was listed as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. It has become a visual landmark and is representative of the vitality of Los Angeles’ retail and commercial core.”
