Long ago in Italy there lived on old clock-maker named Geppetto. Tick-tick-TOCK! Tick-tick-TOCK! went all the clocks in his shop. When he worked, Geppetto felt happy. But when he rested, a sad feeling came over him. “Ah!” he would think. “All my life and no child to call my own!” So, one day Geppetto carved a puppet from wood in the shape of a boy. Pinocchio. This is one of my long favorite Disney movies of all times. In this model i try to give my own vision to the model and using a Pixar style for it. i modeled him off of a single image and the original short.
I rigged the back bone with armature. Then the inner arms are animated with constraint.
I also added a spot light to the head of the character, it is not showing here though… The I is animated with object scale.

I remember when i watched Tangled, The scene that left the deepest impression on me was this scene, the floating lights, the reflection in contrast to the dark of the night and the calm of the lake, it took my breath away and i didn’t even notice they already started singing.
I guess it might be cool to recreate scenes i like in order to also study the reasons i like them :)

Pinocchio! Such an amazing movie and storybook for children(and s!). In this Diorama-Pop Up project I took the courage to write a little story about the famous “Sea Monster” named Pepper. I changed a little bit of the original story, so please don’t be angry if the whale is a cute whale.I’m really feeling the 3D painting energy after this project. It was amazing to work with a Reference to build the lovable Pinocchio. Early this week I contacted by email Christian Cornia, a professional and amazing 2D illustrator, if I could use one of his Pinocchio exploration concepts. He greet me with joy and allowed me to use his concept as reference. Go check his work at Artstation! I hope you enjoy this little diorama and I’m craving to do more.
