My friend Erik Christensen and I had an evening to kill so we ended up around the coast with our Photogrammetry gear scanning this awesome van that had been burnt. Huge credit goes to Erik for driving us out to the site and processing the high resolution data we captured. This scan was created with 2474 images (culled down from 3000+). The shoot was approached in two passes, with Erik taking on the polarised side of the shoot while I did the specular shoot. Shot with 50mm lenses and Godox AR400 strobes at night time. My goal was to create my own concept of the design that was more compact, but also make it functional (animated) and bake it to a game ready asset/prefab, which the video does not cover (it only bakes a static higher poly mesh that is not optimized). This was a fun project and while i hoped to complete it in roughly the same amount of time as the video shows, it took a bit longer solidifying my own design, building the low/high poly mesh, and making it functional. This took me about a week of spare time tinkering to make (the tutorial only took 90+ minutes).
