Mushroooms grown in Gustine California are sold at the Livermore Farmer’s Market. Culinary mushrooms are a gourmet vegan treat that can be served with fish, chicken, pork, beef, noodles, or rice. Once lightly browned the flavors unlock, and once they are a bit dried from being cooked they soak in juices like a sponge. One wonders why it took us so long to rediscover these as a useful part of our diet. Perhaps it takes the internet for us to share about the cool things that are accessible in our wide world.

This replica stands in the center of McKennan Park in Sioux Falls, SD.
It is a replacement for an older, folksy-looking wooden replica that was removed after vandalism in the 1960s. The wooden replica was in poor shape from exposure and seems to have been lost.
When the city decided to replace the replica, I supplied a copy of Frederic Auguste Bartholdi’s early study maquette to be used for modeling.
The replica was set atop the original pedestal previously occupied by the wooden replica.
I used my iPhone mounted on a painters pole with a bluetooth remote to snap photos of the upper parts of the replica. In total, I used 288 photos out of nearly 600 taken.
